Who we are

What we collect

Emails you send us. If you write to us, we receive your name, email address, organisation and whatever detail you choose to put in your message.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We use enquiry data to answer your enquiry and to carry on the resulting commercial conversation. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to a business enquiry you sent us, and, where a contract follows, steps taken at your request prior to entering a contract.

What we do not do

• We do not sell, rent or share your data with third parties for their own purposes.
• We do not add you to a marketing list because you sent an enquiry.
• We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
• We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking of any kind.

Who processes it

Our website host and our email provider process data on our behalf under contract. We select providers that keep data within the EEA where practical, and we will tell you exactly which providers are involved if you ask.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to a commercial relationship are deleted within 24 months. Where a contract follows, records are kept for the term and for the period required by Icelandic accounting and tax law.

Your rights

Under the Icelandic Act on Data Protection and the Processing of Personal Data (no. 90/2018) and the GDPR as incorporated into the EEA Agreement, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to data portability. Write to info@geimgardur.is and we will respond within one month.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Icelandic Data Protection Authority (Persónuvernd), Rauðarárstígur 10, 105 Reykjavík, personuvernd.is.

Changes

If we change this notice we will change the date at the top. We will not apply a materially different use to data you have already given us without telling you first.
